Lake City grad Natalie Bremer becomes MSU-Mankato's all-time leading scorer

Jan. 24—MANKATO, Minn. — Lake City graduate Natalie Bremer became Minnesota State University, Mankato's all-time leading scorer on Friday night, surpassing the 2,072 points scored by Lisa Walter.

At the 6:53 mark of the Mavericks' 81-52 win over Northern State at the Taylor Center, Bremer drove in for a twisting lay-up that pushed her career mark to 2,073 points. Bremer now has 2,085 total points.

"It's a really special moment for myself and my family and my teammates," Bremer said. "I wouldn't be here in this spot without the teammates I've had in the four years that I've been here."

Bremer, a senior guard who is averaging 22 points per game, finished the contest with 22 points. She was 10 for 20 from the field overall and 2-for-7 on 3-point attempts.

Bremer is shooting 52% from the field overall for the unbeaten Mavericks (19-0) and 42% on 3-pointers. She is also averaging 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 steals.

Minnesota State, Mankato is ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II women's basketball.
