Dec. 23—MANKATO — For the second time in a month, Lake City graduate Natalie Bremer has been named the WBCA and D2CIDA National Player of the Week for the unbeaten Minnesota State University, Mankato women's basketball team.
Bremer averaged 26 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 1.5 assists in a pair of road wins. She opened the week with 20 points and a season-high seven steals in a 94-49 win at Southwest Minnesota State before erupting for 32 points on 13-for-19 shooting in a 93-82 win at Sioux Falls.
In the two games, Bremer shot 64% from the field while adding 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 10 steals. Her performance also earned her Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week honors and moved her within less than 120 points of MSU-Mankato's all-time scoring record. Bremer now has 1,938 career points.
Bremer leads the Mavericks in scoring and ranks 10th nationally in Division II. She is averaging 21.8 points per game. Bremer is shooting 41% on 3-pointers and 54% overall. She is also shooting 92% from the free-throw line.
