Year 8 is always when the best QB's break out!
Took Rich Gannon 14 years to click...and 4 teams....assuming you count that year at Washington.
The Raiders started using a west coast offense and Gannon ran it to near perfection.
Kinda hoping Kyler flips the switch before multiple teams become a factor

Apologies if this video has already been put here, but this is why I don't feel like arguing about this.

Especially when Gannon said himself Kyler needs help and we finally got it for him on defense.

The best defense and coaching he has ever had will be this year. That is an undeniable fact whatever happens.

Both sides of this arguement make points, I just wish the anti-Kyler crowd would realize how close they are to winning.

That there has been a massive shift in az sports media and radio and the fanbase.

The majority of fans believe we are a playoff team that should win at least one playoff game.

You don't have to buy this as my assumption, the posts and videos are all over social media.

So imo, if Kyler, Harrison, Mcbride and Connor remain relatively healthy (like last year) there is no excuse not to have 10 wins.

And there is no excuse to lose a playoff game at home.

I guess I am missing why this opinion in the video or what I just stated would be controversial.

As someone who has supported Kyler the entire time he has been here, you can see my posts last year here, I am ready to move on if he isn't ready to put us over the top.

It's not so much that we are anti-KM

We all want him to do well

He has teased us with flashes of really showing the talent to be the QB to lead us to the playoffs and then some

Then he turns into a pumpkin and changes completely

The main thing he is lacking to take the next step is learning to read a defense

He is still trying to wing it and DCs have figured him out and game plan for containment

By learning the defense he should know where all his options are at all times on all plays

With out that he's just a scrambling QB that gets frustrated and then can't make the throws

He still has trouble throwing WRs open and waits until they are open to throw the ball

To me it's all in his head

Like I said it's up to him to take the next step

Again we all want him to do well, but will call him out when he's not performing up to his capabilities

We'll see how it turns out this year

You're really confusing vibes for reality, brutha. The AZ Sports podcast isn't going to take the field in Week 1.

Yeah, point being that it's exceedingly rare for a QB to figure it out past 5 years, let alone 7, as there are only a few examples of it.

Its not happening this year imo.

Bringing back Petzing, not adding a deep threat or YAC machine to compensate for Kyler's issues told me that.

So either we'll be waiting for the light to come on with new OC or we'll see if he has a Baker like bounce back a few years from now on another team.

I'd love to be proven wrong. However, we should have either moved off him or changed something other than running it back.

Look you are entitled to your opinion. But I think you are missing the extent to which the majority of the fanbase and AZ media is ready to turn on him after this year.

If we don't win a playoff game this year, we could easily enter a Phoenix Suns version of hell and start over QB wise.

This is why straight optimism is just the better play, until of wanting to be proven right for the 8th time or whatever the Anti-Kyler crowd thinks.

yes. Obviously. Stafford won a Super Bowl. Kyler hasn’t won a game to qualify for the playoffs.

Honestly looking at one regular season is crazy.

You can't win with these guys. Kyler was ROY and a two-time All-Pro with Kingsbury, yet they all called him Klownsbury. KK is doing ok with JD in Washington. Look at K1's highlights with KK, he was a different quarterback. It's always someone's fault, never K1's.

Thats not really Kyler...thats the Cardinals. The valleys fair weather fans and below average sports pundits are always looking for an excuse to crap on the organization... getting little return on the field from a #1 overall pick would be like a bump of heroin for most of those types.

in regards to the "Hell"...we were experiencing that long before the Suns ever did...which is exactly why Kyler has gotten nothing but support from the team...they remember what its like to depend on Max Hall and Ryan Lindley to carry us through the playoffs.

Kylers biggest issue is crumbling under the pressure of a clinching game..be it seeding, division win, making the playoffs...whatever...he has crumbled nine times and never won one of those games.

But there is hope. Many QB's in the past have had performance issues in pressure games...usually its in the playoffs though...but sooner or later Kyler will break through that barrier.
Carson Palmer never won a playoff game before he came here...Peyton Manning used a superior team to lose in the playoffs like the first four times he was there... but Indy just kept building the team..strengthen the running game,...then strengthen the defense...suddenly Peyton looked just like Peyton Manning in the playoffs.
John Elway put forth herculean efforts to get the Broncos to the Super Bowl...twice IIRC, and could not win until the defense was upgraded and the Broncos grabbed Terrel Davis.

Petzings offense is not as conservative as Baltimores at its base...but I do think it is designed to limit the impact of a QB who is hot and cold...
with an aggressive attacking defense we should get many more scoring opportunities...and as long as our run game stays as strong as it has been the past couple seasons...JG has the option of taking the W/L situation completely out of Kylers hands if he is showing signs of being sketchy.
we can play field position football and win 20-17 or 17-10
not exciting to most fans who want to see high flying offense... but the most exciting thing they can do....is use that defense and rushing attack to drain all the heart out of an opponent in the playoffs.

We are going to the playoffs this season..so the debate is moot.
