Fresh off signing his fat new contract, Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts is not resting on his laurels.

Pitts spent this week attending Tight End University, where Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen hold court and teach younger tight ends the craft that made them elite performers at the position, with an occasional cameo performance from Taylor Swift in the bargain.

While Pitts was on the field, he was approached by an ESPN reporter and asked about the changes the Falcons have gone through this off-season under new head coach Kevin Stefanski. Here's what Pitts had to say.

"It's been great. I would say it's a culture change in terms of every year. Every year is a new reset. But he's bringing - the work is the work, and that's something that he's been committing to us this OTAs, and minicamp..."

Asked about Atlanta's ongoing quarterback competition between Michael Penix and Tua Tagovailoa, Pitts played it neutral, making it clear that he just wants to see the ball no matter who's under center.

"I just want to catch the ball, as many times as possible. It's cool to see - I mean, I've been in the, some people say quarterback carousel, so me seeing a quarterback competition is cool. To have two guys like that who are peak competitors is great to see."

Regardless of the starting quarterback, Pitts could be in for a surge of touches under Stefanski. Each of the last five years that he was the head coach in Cleveland, top tight end David Njoku scored at least four touchdowns. He peaked in 2023 with 123 targets, 81 catches, 882 yards and six touchdowns in a Pro Bowl year.

Pitts has proven he can match those numbers - the only question is if he can do it consistently.
