He left the game with over 6 minutes to go? Leaves the court without a freaking handshake.... not even a wave? I know it is tearing him up inside to lose this game but at least man up and fake it! What a waste!

What do you expect from him, really? A good ole hug with Nash, who actually dislikes him? Man, as much as I hate Duncan, he's shown 100 times more class than Kobe.

I read it somewhere that Nash did not even talk about Kobe in post conference and Bell made a comment about "we've got a bigger fish to fry" to insult Kobe. It's obvious that Nash and Bell don't like Kobe but who does?

I don't think Kobe will ever win a MVP. He missed his chance this season. Somehow I don't feel bad for him.

Kobe is a great athlete and at the same time lacks class and character--and maybe even leadership. Nash is a selfless yet remarkable athlete and is one of the most humble players on the court.

All the fans who had thought Kobe should have been the MVP are now eating their own words.

Bell was asked if he had a rebuttal NOW to Kobe saying "I have bigger Fish to Fry" about Bell. Bell replied "I'm not going to say that, but I will say As A Team We Have Bigger Fish to Fry".

There has been no respect from either side. It's going to become a wicked rivalry, and this is how rivalries go.

"It's going to become a wicked rivalry,"

Where have you been? :biglaugh:

Seriously, the rivalry has not been what it once was because the Suns weren't very good when the Lakers winning thos championships and the Lakers weren't very good last year and only average this year. The Lakers have a ways to go to become a serious title contender, while a healthy Suns team is already there.

I think Phoenix fans can always get up for playing LA, but Kobe really does generate a degree of antagonism that other great players don't. Perhaps if he learned to smile without smirking, but I'm not sure he is capable of that.

I wonder if his teammates even like him? When Raja took Kobe down the way he took him down...there should've been Kobes' teammate all over Bell. When your superstar gets taken down like that, man...your boys are usually there to defend. Unbelievably nary a Laker came to Kobes' side and offered a retaliation.

Compare that to when Tim Thomas was taken down by Walton. Smush Parker came flying in to tackle Thomas. So if Luke Walton has his back covered by Laker teammates...where were Kobe's defenders?

Just seems to me that your star player would get a little more support after the mugging he took from Raja. I can't imagine a Tim Thomas or Raja Bell not taking somebody out if Steve Nash were ever pulled down like that.

I think the current situation with the Lakers is that he's the only one who has proven anything. Everyone else is wet behind the ears.

During the Lakers championship runs, they definitely did go after each other. Rick Fox was the enforcer, and to be honest, there's no such thing on the Lakers. The only person who will go all out to war is Kobe.

Everyone else is a pretty boy. There's definitely not enough toughness in this set of Lakers, and that is their one downfall. The clothesline by Bell reminded me of the one by McHale. Because of the clothesline, the Lakers lost the series. History repeats itself, in a way.

The Lakers need a Ron Artest, etc. Not enough players who play with enough heart.

Stats for the Memorial Day Massacre...possibly the worst game the Lakers ever played in the playoffs.

Did any of these guys quit on the team? Bear in mind, these stats were in an era where 130 points might not win you the game.

Man, that brings back some memories. I know that triple-doubles get the pub, but Bird would always post up a 20-8-6 type of line.

Dude, as much hate I have in my heart for all that is Celtic and all that is green...I have to admit...

Larry Bird was one HELL of a player.

That was back in the golden age of the NBA. I hated the Celtics too, but I always watched when they were on.
