What i heard. Not much, but Take it FWIW.

Can confirm that Kingsbury is scheduled to fly to AZ from New Jersey tomorrow morning in Bidwill’s private jet. Couldn’t get confirmation about whether or not it’s a done deal except that he’s all but done at USC.

Piecing everything together.

Seemed like the talking heads said that he was Arizona’s to lose if he made it out of the Jets facility without a deal. I also don’t think that Kliff does this without some confirmation that he has a job in the NFL. The stuff about considering the OC job at NE was a distraction. It’s New York or AZ, and with Kliff making out of NY without a contract, barring some screw up, he’s the next Cardinals Coach.

I can deal with a Kingbury era, good or bad.

Maybe it's because we are transitioning from the most boring coach of all-time. Maybe it's because pairing him with Rosen could be one of our only chances to erase last season's debacle from Rosen's psyche. Maybe it's because this would be such an un-Cardinal like move. Whatever the reason, I am willing to give him a fair shot, if the hiring happens. If nothing else, it would be interesting, which would be a sharp contrast to this year.

Old news.

The #AZCardinals are interviewing former #TexasTech coach & #USC OC Kliff Kingsbury for the vacant head-coaching job today, source said. He spent yesterday impressing the Jets, now has a chance to do the same to Arizona. They’ve had sincere interest in the innovator for a while.
I still think MB had a conversation with KK, before KK took USC job...and USC was his plan B all along.

Yup. That was my feeling yesterday; if he makes it out of NY w/o a deal he's landing with the Cards.

With the NCAA and NFL agreement, MB couldn't talk directly to Kingsbury, but all of this chatter was likely going through his agent.

Right. I was just referring to the last month or so since things became formal - Kingsbury signing with USC. Wilks getting fired.
one would think if they had "a wink and a nod" in place in regards to the job then KK would never have accepted the SC position.

Kind of . But the seed could have been planted on a conversation. Had the cards suddenly turned it around and won their last 5 games Wilks would probably still be here. Also when KK signed with USC there was no precedent set that the university would deny him to interview with the nfl. Thus he signs with USC with no guarantee the nfl would be calling but believing he still had the option if it did.

So was KK the “out of football” guy MB referenced in the press conference? Did they talk while he was between jobs?

Ian Rappoport reporting Cardinals are more than likely buying out his contract with USC.
