Earlier in the week, the Washington Commanders and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury agreed to mutually part ways, and it did not take long for him to end up in the head coaching cycle. On Thursday, Kingsbury became the 13th potential candidate linked to the Tennessee Titans' coaching search, with Tennessee joining the Baltimore Ravens in requesting an interview.

Kingsbury is an intriguing, offensive-minded candidate who would bring a system that fits with Cam Ward’s skill set. Known for his work with Patrick Mahomes in college, he took over the Arizona Cardinals in 2019 and led them to a 28-37-1 record before being fired at the conclusion of the 2022 season.

While in Arizona, his team improved over the first three seasons at the helm, eventually making the playoffs in 2021. However, injuries derailed the team in 2022, and the team regressed, leading to his firing at the end of the season.

After one season as an offensive analyst at USC, he returned to the NFL in 2024 with the Commanders as offensive coordinator, helping propel rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels to a record-setting season. However, he was unable to replicate those results in 2025, mostly due to injuries.

With a lack of established offensive-minded candidates, it is likely that Kingsbury’s stock will continue to rise during this cycle, especially with teams that feature athletic quarterbacks after his early success with Kyler Murray and Daniels.
