Johannes Høsflot Klæbo was once again unbeatable as he claimed men's sprint win in the cross-country World Cup in Lahti, Finland on Saturday.

The title holder and World Cup leader clocked 2 minutes 49.84 seconds to beat Norwegian team-mate Lars Heggen by 0.42 seconds. Third place went to Jules Chappaz of France.

Last month, Klæbo became the most successful Winter Olympic athlete of all time after claiming a record six gold medals at the Milan/Cortina Games.

In the women's sprint, Jonna Sundling led a one-two for Sweden ahead of team-mate Linn Svahn.

Sundling topped the final heat in 3 minutes 07.00 seconds, 0.17 seconds ahead of Svahn. Coletta Rydzek of Germany was third.

World Cup leader and title holder Jessie Diggins of the United States was eliminated in the quarter-finals and was 12th in the final ranking.

Norway wins Nordic combined team event

In the Nordic combined World Cup, Ida Marie Hagen and Jens Lurås Oftebro soared from seventh in the ski jumping portion to take the victory in the cross-country race in 25:23.6 minutes.

The Finnish duo of Minja Korhonen and Ilkka Herola, who led the jumps, had to settle for second. Germany were third with Nathalie Armsbruster and Johannes Rydzek.

Hagen claimed the women's overall title last month and on Friday Johannes Lamparter was crowned men's champions. Lamparter and Austrian team-mate Lisa Hirner were fifth in the team event.
