I'm guessing the rookies probably aren't going to see major minutes for a while regardless, so might as well inactivate them if they are nursing what are probably just minor injuries.

Perhaps coincidentally, it looks like all three rookies will not be active for tonight's game although I haven't heard anything about Lecque.

I'm more excited about this season headed into tonight's game than I was last year coming out of the Mavericks game. Something about that Mavericks opener last year seemed off. It was a good win but I think it was clear the Mav's were playing at half speed and the Suns had luck on their side. I hope luck isn't needed as much this year. We have real talent and a couple of guys who should be capable of stepping up when needed.

I like that Steve Blake is working with Okobo.

I'm hoping the Suns do not come out rusty or out of sync. They have had a lot of days off since their last preseason game. Also they have a number of new players and a new coach not to mention a tough schedule coming out of the gate. It may take time to build chemistry so fans need to be patient.

Ayton playing with the second unit? It could happen.

Kellan Olson‏Verified account @KellanOlson

Williams said the possibility of playing DA with the second unit is intriguing and something they tried in practice in training camp two. Keep an eye on an early Baynes entrance then.

Ayton knocks it off his foot going for the layup.

Rubio with the sneaky layup. Suns lead 6-2 early.

Nice follow by Ayton. And then a nice transition slam for him too.

Ayton looks like Amare-esque. Just running to the basket and getting buckets. I hope he continues doing that later in the game. First quarters and first halves were always good for him.
