forgive me if you have already done this, but am trying to help...I sometimes have pics and gifs that won't show, and so

1. I encase IMG with a bracket, before and after.
2. copy and paste image/gif addy after that
3. Finish with a bracket, and then backslash IMG (/IMG)...Place the last bracket, and you are done!

Normally works all the time for me, sorry for the wordiness, but the site performs like the broken IMG image when things don't work. Ant more questions, respond to my email, and examine the form of how the working pic language is formed.
