Jalen Green / Dillon Brooks thread

Near the bottom of the league in facilitation, dead last among volume shooters, and while he creates a lot of "shots" for himself, they're low value shots and he rates very poorly at making them, not just bad but in the bottom 10% at every range except the rim.

I mean... I don't know what other take to have after reading that.

If the experiment doesn't work at guard, I can see Collin Gillespie being used more and more at point guard. The Suns could be forced into playing a lot of small ball lineups by the need to put their best players on the court.

They took the top trade they could find, not necessarily the best fit.

Dillon Brooks seems to be an underrated aspect of this trade.

Right now, he's probably our most tradable asset behind Booker. It's obvious the Suns wanted him, because he's an example of how they want their guys to play. I have been reading and hearing a lot of stories of how Brooks is a Teddy Bear off the court, but he goes psycho during games. Teammates say he's one of the best they have played with. I think because he's Canadien, he plays like a hockey player during games. Someone told me there's an article somewhere that Dunn himself makes that same analogy.

Am I? IMO, there is more to ball handling than just dribbling. Ball handling is about running an offense and creation. He runs a lot of ISO, his efforts create opportunities for his teammates at a league low rate and the opportunities he creates for himself are low value shots that, from any distance except the rim, he makes at a rate that ranks him in the bottom 10% of the NBA.

He is most successful role on offense is as an off ball cutter, something that requires no ball handling.

From what I can tell he is Kelly Oubre, only shorter.

I expect that he will dazzle occasionally but typically be a detriment.

I'd just try to get off him. I think Trae is significantly better but, like I said in the other thread, he is so ball dominant that you can only go so far as he personally can take you, and for the last couple years that hasn't worked well in Atlanta and I don't think it would be different here. We might be a play in team that gets obliterated in round 1... that is kind of the best case scenario.

I also think Booker is just generally a better player than Trae and they'd be an awful fit together.

Just have to hope that a change of scenery and coach/system will turn things around for Jalen Green. I don't think he's the second coming of Jesus or Penny Hardaway.

I just realized there is no official Jalen Green thread. Ahh but injuries curse us again. What is the deal with our guards acquiring hamstring injuries?

Book has had them with us. Beal had about 3 instances i think with us. And now a normally healthy Green is stricken with them, he did play 82 games the last two seasons.
