I don't think NBA players are as petty as many fans think. Especially CP3. That dude is all business.
Even Dillion Brooks. I see in the past where he has scrapped with Book. Then the next game they come out and shake hands, and even hug at the end of the game.

speaking of dillon brooks- watching netflix "court of gold" olympic doc right now- episode 4 has a good piece with brooks explaining how he's wired and often misunderstood

i mentioned it's an olympics documentary right? because i forgot about the role he played on team canada - again - i say trade green keep brooks because we already have a better green - not brooks tho

guess who team canada picked to cover wemby on defense?

I’m not sure where all the brooks hate comes from. The lay fan may hate him but teammates rave about him. Seems like a good guy off the court with the fans and community. And seems like he isn’t disrespected by the league. Personally I like what he brings. We miss that tenacity and effort.

Is Jalen Green any good? It seems a lot of the gripes against him are similar to those leveled against Booker early in his career. So I am just curious about him.

He's a good athlete and has put up numbers, but the advanced stats are not good. Houston actually played better without him in the lineup, and by all accounts, his basketball IQ is bad.

He's kind of a contemporary version of Steve Francis - far more flash than substance on the court, and possibly even a net negative. Whether he can be turned into something better seems debatable.

I will put it this way, at times he looks better than good, he looks great.

Honestly he is a better athlete than ANT in my opinion and better at driving to the bucket. The problem is he plays stupid most of the time.

His issues really are almost all mental, can those be fixed possibly, but I wouldn't bet on it. But I did see someone make a comparison to Cade Cunningham who also was not very efficient till last year when he broke out. Maybe there is some hope.

It's just not common to see someone start to play the right way after 3 or 4 years in the league, but rarely it does happen.

You do bring up a point on Booker he also did not shoot very well his first 3 years and then gradually got more and more efficient.

Perhaps Green not being the primary perimeter scoring option will cause him to make better decisions on his shot selection. If you do look at the Rockets, there wasn't really any other perimiter players better than him so he was often the one forced to create.

I will admit I am a little more optimistic about him after watching some more video the last few days, but I still think hoping he can become a star is to much to hope for at this point.

He's great on occasion. Watch this highlight reel vs the Warriors early in their matchup this postseason. Unfortunately it was a tease since he vanished after this game. It looked like he put everything together though.

His value is neutral at best. I'd rather a clean break if a team with capspace wanted him without sending money back.

So, my friends are telling me that Green was the primary offense on that team, and he became the focal point of the Warrior's defense. It's a lot to ask a 23-year-old to carry a team offensively in the playoffs--especially against a team with good defenders and a very intelligent defensive scheme.

Is this a fair assessment? I didn't watch that series.

A kid that young has value and potential. I would not trade him without getting something good back.

I watched 4 of those games and that's fair. Green needed a sidekick. He's probably best suited as a sidekick. He's very young Booker in how he tries to carry the team on his back, which doesn't always work.

His talent is undeniable. If he concedes to Booker and Booker takes the lead, this team could be dangerous.

He has great handles but does not have a distributing mentality. I wish this kid was brought up more as a pg than a sg. He could be a little Ja-like. I guess we will try to pair the two together and see how it will work, but I really doubt it will be successful.

If he had a couple decent scorers around him, could he be a pg. He has the handles. He has the offense. He would have to concentrate on defense and distribution.

I personally think he's a younger Beal. Similar games. The think is Beal and Book's record together wasn't that great. Doesn't mean he and Green cannot mesh.

The idea of a younger Beal is plain to me as well. We really do not need two of those guys on our team. We have to tell Brad that he will not get playing time this year. We will try to accommodate whatever he wants to do.

Houston gave up on making him a PG when they signed VanVleet 2 years back. It'll be interesting to see if he can be coached into being a better distributor. Hopefully Booker can help him some as well.

Jalen Green talks about leaving Houston and playing with Devin Booker.
