they'll be suns for at least another 50 something days far as i understand - should they both be traded? is there one you'd keep? is jalen a talented project or a hot mess? is dillon brooks better suited at a playoff destination? will ott's rookie ass be able to handle these types of personalities? aren't you glad im not posting a poll?

They will be kept, its a Book/Green front court. Brooks and Dunn (LOL) forwards. Martin backup.

Green will have time to grow as a #2 behind Book.
Brook and Dunn (LOL, i cant keep chuckling everytime i type it) are our 3-D wings.

We just need a starting center now.

Not that it proves anything for the future, but Green's advanced stats aren't much different than Booker's through 4 seasons. Similar pace of improvement as well.

if we're keeping book why develop jalen? can jalen play point guard? book and dunn are probably our only guaranteed starters at this time - question is how "wreck it ralph" is ish gonna go?

i would love to keep brooks - im tired of phx being pushed around - brooks (and richards) aint having it but i don't think anybody but devin and dunn are safe

Brooks should be traded if any contender makes a decent offer, he isn't going to be happy on a rebuilding team.

my thoughts from a post by @leclerc

Keepers:
Gillespie
Book
Green

Brooks
Martin
Dunn

Richards
#10
Oso

Bol Bol
Beal (because we would have to give up assets, better to keep IMO)
Morris (solid depth pg, the other thread i said to let go)

On the block:
O'Neale 9M
Allen 15.6M

Let go:
Lee (finally)
Jones
Micic
Plumlee

The rest we fill out with one of each athletic, 3/4, and 4/5's with Allen and O'neale as traid bait. I dont see moving Green or Brooks for anything solid, if they are moved its because we are rebuilding, which are not. We are re-tooling around Book.

Are you Ishbia?

That team is not making the play in. That is rebuilding like it or not.

I reeeeeeally don't like Dillon Brooks, but, if he is actually on the final roster, he should at least keep things interesting.

This was going to be one of my guesses too, we somehow acquire Cam Johnson or Oubre. Oubre more likely since I think he's an ufa, he did have a player option for his 2nd year of his 16M contract, i'm unsure if he exercised it or not.

i think you missed his point - he's saying that Green is the equivalent/new version of Oubre, a player who puts up stats but is a detriment overall to the team.

Green reminds me a lot of the last Green to put on a Suns uniform, Gerald Green. He was fun. I hope we have similar fun with Jalen. That was probably the last time we had that kind of athleticism too.

Lots of sg's and wings. How about a defensive distributing pg?

One podcast I listened to today pointed out Monte Morris is still on the squad, and according to the podcaster, Morris is a defensive distributing PG. Morris just got in Coach Bud's doghouse for some reason.

A lot of people do seem to be forgetting about him or writing him off, but he is at worst, a solid backup PG. Is there any expectation he could ultimately resign here?

IDK, but he signed a two year deal originally. I am thinking the first unit will be green and booker at the guards. So we are really taking the need for a back up PG. Also, Gillespie is a restricted free agent, and we are expected to resign him, although I wouldn't put him in the defensive PG category.

Oh, I thought he was on a one-year make good deal like Jones.

I somewhat like Brooks only because this team is in desperate need of a big pair of swinging truck nuts. At least he brings the toughness and attitude

It's a 2 year deal with a player option for year 2. It would be nice if he opts in but I can't blame him if he doesn't. I want him to opt in as we aren't likely to get anyone better at the minimum.
I think it's up to Ott to talk him into picking up the option. If Ott needs a defensive PG, he needs to reach out.

Not sure where you heard he's a defensive PG but that doesn't really follow. He is better than Tyus or Gillepsie but he definitely shouldnt be called a defensive PG. He lacks the size and skill to be above average on defense. The effort is there but that's it.
