He would a great mentor for Beck, Sign him!
assuming Beck can learn to be ARod on the field but not off the field, lol.

on the other hand...the NFL had vet QB's do a mini mentorship period with draft prospects prior to the draft a few years back... Josh Rosen spent time with Rodgers...
saw an interview, and the one thing Josh Rosen took away from his time with Rodgers,...was the philosophy that you, the player, are the star...not the coach... and that sometimes you have to ignore the coach and just run the play you feel is best...regardless of what the coach wants.

...as a basic philosophy I actually agree with that... players have a better feel for the flow of a game than coaches do.
But somewhere along the way Rodgers forgot to communicate to Rosen that you dont do this until you know your offense inside and out,...until you have earned your cred as a QB...and under zero circumstances do you do it,...as a fuggin rookie!!

.... so Im curious if we reallly want Rodgers to Mentor Beck?? His tutelage didnt work out all that well for the last young Cardinal QB he got time with.

Look, I'm not a huge Double A Ron fan, but other than just being weird, he hasn't done anything off the field to be worried about.

This... you need to throw Beck into the fire and see what he is, tanking is just the win/win option. need to be sitting pretty for next years draft. You can pretty much chalk up 6 losses right off the bat in the division....
Why would Monti want to tank and lose his job? I would be all for bringing in rodgers…bidwill wants to sell tickets too…manning is not coming here anyway and Moore sucks he is Murray 2.0…

Not even particularly discussing Rodgers' politics, but his personality combined with them... that's messy, and I don't want it on my team.

But more importantly, I don't think he has enough left in the tank to win it all for anyone, much less us. However, I do think he'd have a better chance at winning with us than he does in Pittsburgh, but not by much. Where we stand today, I think we have better skill position players than the Steelers.

I just don't see the point. I'm not sitting here demanding a tank, but I think Brissett is only marginally worse than Rodgers in the context of division, personality, and opportunity at the moment.

It's a no for me.

He has, as has been covered.
He's been weird with his darkness retreats and things like that, but has he committed any crimes, domestic violence, gambling, inappropriate photos, drinking, drugs, etc? No.i think he's a major DB, but his teammates have always loved him...and he k, even McCarthy took the Steelers job knowing it was probably a 90% chance Double A Ron would be his QB.

im in the bring him in camp

but his rep with teammates is very, very mixed

I think its the kinda thing where if he is playing at a high level, they put up with his act

but when he isnt, it gets very old, very fast

I don't want him. I don't like him and if he did come here he will probably lead us to just enough wins to screw up getting a top QB, again.

But, I can see Bidwill wanting this. The most success this sad sack franchise has experienced was bringing in two old QBs.

It comes down to what they think about Beck. If they see him as their QBOTF then it makes sense to bring in AR for him to learn behind.

If they don't feel confident that Beck is the long-term answer than this move makes no sense as it does nothing for the team in the long run.

Honestly it’s time for this team to start thinking about success in the short run. They’re 19-49 over the past four seasons.

Long-term thinking hasn’t done much for us.
To be fair, if next year is such a strong QB draft, they should be able to get their hands on one whether it be pick 15-20 or a trade up.

I submit that Jacoby's slow wind up and lack of mobility made the line look like it was worse than it was. He owns that 1-11 record and I see a ceiling of 4 wins with him or Uncle Rico. I welcome any other option, just like Beck.

He sure does and Kyler Murray equally owns that 1-11 record as does MHJ, Michael Wilson, Trey McBride, Conner, Benson, Demarcado, and everyone on the Oline....everyone on the cardinals team owns that record. Can we stop with blaming a single person for going 1-11 on a TEAM sport.

Saying JB went 1-11 is a headline grab and click bait

Yeah, sure, it's a team sport and all that. But those are the games he started. And I wouldn't put Conner and Kyler as have equal ownership of losses they didn't even play in.

I'd give him a shot if he wanted to come here given the QB room expect that he has the UFA tender on him. I'm not giving up a draft pick for him or any other 42 year old player.

me too

at least with Aaron, you can see a path to competing for a playoff spot

i do wonder which Aaron you get: the diva for the Jets, or, what looked like a team guy with the Steelers
That just depends on if we’re winning or not.
