LSU baseball is 5-0 after sweeping Milwaukee in the opening series and going 2-0 in its midweek contests, beating Kent State on Monday and Nicholls on Wednesday.
Now, the Tigers' competition will be a notch tougher as Jay Johnson's squad prepares to face its first power conference opponents this year. All five of LSU's games thus far were played within the comfort of Alex Box Stadium, but that will change this weekend.
The Tigers are hitting the road, heading to Jacksonville, Florida to compete in the Jax Baseball Classic. That means no baseball at The Box this weekend.
LSU is set for three games in Jacksonville before returning home. On Friday, LSU will face Indiana at 1:00 p.m. CT. Next up, is a meeting vs. Notre Dame on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT. The Tigers close the weekend out vs. UCF at 2:00 p.m. CT on Sunday.
The three games this weekend will be LSU's only nonconference games vs. Power Four competition.
LSU's next home game will be next week, when the Tigers host McNeese on Tuesday.
