After an exhilarating NCAA Tournament run that came to an end in the Elite Eight on Saturday, the Iowa basketball program is turning its attention toward recruiting.
Iowa has one signee in its 2026 class, with four-star forward Ethan Harris set to arrive on campus in a few months. While there may be another name added to the class down the line, Ben McCollum is now starting to do some work on his 2027 recruiting class. The Hawkeyes locked in an official visit date for a highly-touted four-star prospect on Sunday.
Dushawn London of 247Sports was the first to report that 2027 four-star forward Donovan Davis has set his official visit schedule for next month, and it includes a stop in Iowa City.
Davis is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward from Kaukauna, Wis., and Freedom High School. 247Sports has him as the 42nd-best prospect in the 2027 class and as the second-best in the state of Wisconsin. Rivals ranks Davis as its No. 20 player nationally, as the No. 7 small forward and as the No. 2 player in Wisconsin.
Davis helped lead Freedom to a 25-2 record last season, doing it at both ends of the court. He's a consensus top-100 player for a reason and will be very coveted in this recruiting cycle.
McCollum and the Hawkeyes will get their chance to make an impression with Davis on April 15, when he visits Iowa City for his official visit. Here's a look at the rest of his visit schedule:
Wisconsin and Iowa State seem to be the favorites right now, but there's no doubt that the Hawkeyes' recent NCAA Tournament success will help them with their pitch to Davis. McCollum has proven to be a great recruiter, both in the high school ranks and in the transfer portal. He'll look to secure another talented piece when Davis visits in a few weeks.
