Louisville basketball is in the home stretch of preparations for another summer trip to the Bahamas under Pat Kelsey.

The Cardinals have two exhibitions on tap next week in Nassau against teams from the Caribbean country as part of the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League.

UofL opened a portion of its practice Thursday, July 23, to members of the media. For Kelsey, the additional sessions at the Planet Fitness Kueber Center are just as valuable as the dress rehearsals — considering his 2026-27 roster features nine newcomers and only one scholarship returner who logged a minute for him last season.

Six of Louisville's new additions came by way of the NCAA transfer portal. The evaluators over at 247Sports consider Kelsey's haul — headlined by former Kansas forward Flory Bidunga — the best in the country. Other notable transfers include former Oregon point guard Jackson Shelstad and former Arkansas wing Karter Knox.

The three other new faces are freshmen — the Cards' largest crop of first-year players since Kelsey was handed the reins of the program in 2024: Obinna Ekezie Jr., Isaac Ellis and Boyuan Zhang.

Adrian Wooley is the lone scholarship returner who saw the court for UofL in 2024-25. But he isn't the only familiar face, as former NBA G League guard London Johnson will make his debut next week after joining the team last December and redshirting the remainder of the season.

Game 1 of Louisville's exhibition tour is set for a 2 p.m. tipoff Tuesday, July 28. Game 2 will follow at noon Wednesday, July 29. Both will be held at Baha Mar Convention, Arts and Entertainment Center.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to watch either dress rehearsal — or follow along on the radio. That's why you should stay tuned to The Courier Journal, which will have boots on the ground in Nassau for an inside look at what should be a formative experience for a team with lofty expectations.
