Welcome back to The Courier Journal's Louisville basketball mailbag.
It's been a while — and there's no shortage of developments to discuss.
After a second-round NCAA Tournament exit, Pat Kelsey said goodbye to 11 members of his 2025-26 roster in addition to longtime staffers Thomas Carr and Brian Kloman. Since then, the coach has been busy assembling a collection of nine newcomers who, as of early June, ranked fifth on 247Sports' national leaderboard.
The fresh faces — plus returners London Johnson and Adrian Wooley — are on campus for the start of summer workouts. Kelsey has two new associate head coaches in the mix, as well: John Andrzejek and Sean Dixon.
The schedule is coming together. The Cardinals know who they'll face during their first trip to the Players Era tournament, when they'll travel to Rupp Arena for the annual showdown against Kentucky and their home/away ACC matchups.
Meanwhile, Mikel Brown Jr. and Ryan Conwell are hoping to give UofL its first NBA draft with two selections since 2015.
