The 2025 NFL draft is finally here, which means ESPN's Field Yates released his final mock draft before it all begins. So, who did the Indianapolis Colts select?

Like many other mocks, with Tyler Warren off the board, the Colts were still able to address the tight end position and do so by taking Michigan's Colston Loveland.

"He is not far behind Warren in my rankings (No. 11), as he's a smooth route runner with good hands," Yates wrote. "As Indianapolis sorts through its long-term quarterback situation, having more dependable middle-of-the-field playmakers would go a long way in getting the passing game on track."

The Colts need a pass-catching presence at the position, and Loveland can very much provide that. He's able to line up in the slot and even out wide, in addition to in-line, is a threat at all levels of the field, and can attack those levels in different ways.

That skill set not only leads to production for Loveland but can also help create for others as well.

While pass-catching is on everyone's radar here, blocking at the tight end position is incredibly important as well in Shane Steichen's offense. Loveland has grown in that area during his career, and there's room for more. The Colts' evaluation of that facet of his game could play a key role in whether or not they select him.

Understandably so, tight end is garnering much of the attention for the Colts, but don't forget about the offensive line either.
