We have a kicker that kicks at 90% his name is Jay Feeley ;)

Never in his career and that is with us only giving him 1-3 50+ yard attempts per year because he has a noodle leg.

Edit: Sorry I was wrong, he hit 91% in 2007 for the Dolphins. Of course he had only 1 50+ yarder cause the coaches knew he doesn't have the leg for it.

89.7% is close enough IMO just last year.

“I am proud of my performance over the last four years,” Feely said, noting that he was third in the NFL in field-goal makes over 47 yards the last four years, fifth in percentage at that distance and fifth in percentage from less than 47 yards. “I am happy with how I have performed the last few years and happy with my training camp so far.”

Sounds like hes been consistent and just fine to me

Dude is the best kicker we've had in a long time. So have Zastudil handle knockoffs. It drives me nuts that we have two roster spots for kickers and punters.

One kicker, two quarterbacks.
Then you have the luxury of a 7' power forward at tight end & a 6'8" shooting guard to guard the other teams' freak in the red zone.

Oh, I thought you were talking about someone named Feeley.

And where did he get the 47 yards stat? Why didn't he use 48 or 46?

I'm going to guess that stat is used because it reference ball placement at the 30 yard line.

So inside the 30 and outside the 30.

They clearly cut him for a reason. he's not that impressive ;)

If he was all that video made out to be he wouldn't have been cut.

He was perfect in the preseason including 2 from 50+

They just went with the veteran in Akers.

I heard on the radio yesterday (probably from MJ) that even with Carpenter cut the Cards had their eye on two guys - one on an active roster and one on the street. Wonder if he could have been the guy on the active roster?

Rugland did a great job but Akers has the experience. Plus the rookie needs work with the technique and longer KOs into the endzone!

Didn't Akers have the serious yips last year?

Akers was a 69% kicker last year beyond atrocious and only 85% the year before worse than Feely... Yet this bozo couldnt beat him out..

You conveniently leave out that Feely's last year was a career year and the year before he hit 79%.

You can keep touting the career year though. This is why I like playing fantasy football with you. :manongoalpost:

Eh...he is kicking in a dome now, he will be a lot better this year. Akers was also perfect in the pre season.

Lions kind of love their old kickers. Jason Hanson played 21 years!
