If the Cardinals are going to take a QB in this draft at all then take Leftwich. No need in taking another "project" type QB. If they are not going to take a QB then take Suggs.

Another good point if the Cardinals had looked ahead last year then they would have not drafted McCown because the QB's this year are much better.

I agree EndZone. We need to go defense first, then WR, then CB in the draft unless they decide to offer a contract to Robinson and he accepts or they can do a deal for Streets. If that happens then DE and DT in round 1 and 2 with WR in the 3rd round.

I liked the idea of trading are #2 for a vet. wide reciever or packaging Jones and a third for a proven #1 WideReciever.

There is a problem with looking ahead in that they have no real idea where they will pick. I really don't think they look ahead draftwise too much since you never know what player will bust or pan out. They don't know who may be injured or who they may lose or gain via free agency.

Also, a team can catch lightning in a bottle and make a run into the playoffs when they were projrcting to be a top 10 pick. Too many variables.

IMO I don't think the Cards will make the playoff this year. So I think we will have a nice high pick next not 6 but I think around 10-12. We can pick up a great WR or QB next year or trade that pick for Lefty next year.

How can anyone say that QBs were much better realistically? Can anyone say that Palmer was going to have the year he had especially after the three crappy ones he had. That is quite a surprise. Plus the guy from Iowa who woulda thunk it?

Heck was Boller even rated high at the beginning of the year?

I think that is a bunch of Crap. You have no idea what will happen to these players next year. They could become injured. They may not fall to your draft position. Way to many unknowns to plan that far ahead.

1. Would you trade our #70 for Smoot?

2. Could we package McCown into a trade if the Cards are serious about Simms? (I was thinking of packaging him with TJ for another 3rd round pick, but KC already traded theirs).

Maybe re-acquiring a third round pick is part of the discussions between KC and the CARDS - for ex: Jones + a third for one of KCs younger wideouts + a pick....
