OMAHA, Neb. − After a College World Series-opening 7-5 loss to West Virginia, the Troy baseball team's trip to the CWS now stands one game from elimination. The Trojans took WVU into the bottom of the eighth inning tied 5-5, but a two-run single by Mountaineers third baseman Tyrus Hall plated the game-winning runs.

Troy (38-31) became the first team to reach the CWS with 30 losses, pulling an improbable upset of Florida in NCAA Regional play. It will have to rediscover that magic to stay alive, however, as it prepares to face Ole Miss (41-22) on Sunday. It will be a loser-goes-home affair. If the Trojans win, they'll next play on Tuesday against the West Virginia-North Carolina loser.
