OMAHA, Neb. −The Troy baseball team will face Ole Miss on Sunday, June 14, in an elimination game at the College World Series. The Trojans lost their CWS opener against West Virginia on Friday, 7-5, while Ole Miss fell to North Carolina 6-2.
Troy (38-31) made an improbable run through the NCAA Gainesville Regional, eliminating both Miami and Florida with a flurry of offense that plated 35 runs over a three-game stretch. It then swept Little Rock in hosting a super regional.
While the loser of the Troy-Ole Miss game will be eliminated from the CWS, the winner will move on in the losers bracket to face the loser of Sunday night's game between WVU and the Tar Heels.
