Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza and the No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day, advancing to the CFP semifinals where they'll face the No. 5 Oregon Ducks this Friday. The Ducks defeated Texas Tech 23-0 in their quarterfinal matchup at the Orange Bowl. If either team wins the national championship, it would be a first in the history of both football programs.
