The annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity returns to Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night as Democrats and Republicans once again put politics aside for one of Capitol Hill’s longest-running traditions.

First played in 1909, the event has evolved into a major fundraising effort that supports organizations including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, Washington Nationals Philanthropies, the United States Capitol Police Memorial Fund, and other local charitable initiatives.
