It’s the dream of any Little League baseball team to make the World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The Naamans Little Leaguers, 12-year-olds now but many of them teammates since age 8, are poised to make it come true.
Naamans will play at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals at the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center in Bristol, Connecticut, beginning Aug 9.
The winner of the 4-team bracket advances to the World Series.
The 4-team Mid-Atlantic bracket also includes Maryland champ Berlin, Pennsylvania champ East Side of West Chester and Washington D.C. champ Capitol Hill.
Naamans plays East Side at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, following a game between Berlin and Capitol Hill.
The losers of those two games play Aug. 10 at 5 p.m. and the winners meet Aug. 11 at 11 a.m.
The winner of the Aug. 10 game then faces the loser of the Aug. 11 game on Aug. 13 at 3 p.m.
That sets the stage for the Aug. 14 championship at 3 p.m. between the winners of the Aug. 11 and Aug. 13 games.
The first two games Aug. 9 are on ESPN+, a subscription service. ESPN will air the rest of the games nationally.

Naamans first won the District II (northern New Castle County) title by beating Brandywine at Canal on July 16.
That sent them to the state tournament, which Naamans won Aug. 1 with a 3-2 triumph over Milton at Passwaters Park in Bridgeville. Naamans had beaten three-time defending champ MOT and Milton 11-2 to reach the title game.
This was Naamans’ sixth state championship at the Major Little League level since competition debuted in 1957, the others coming in 1976, 1978, 2003, 2006 and 2022.
Typically they are 11 and 12, but all the Naamans players are 12.
Naamans was the first in 2003, followed by Newark National in 2013.
