Wouldn't spend any picks on him, then we're investing more than just money into the guy.

Best QB available. Our biggest need... I would give up to a 5th without question. I doubt it would take more that that to get him. But if it took a 4th I would consider that also.

We need a QB badly.

I would give up one of our 6th rounders this year at most. Possibly a higher 2014 draft pick if it was very conditional, but in no way would I give up multiple picks.

Normally I would say no picks, just wait until he is cut, but in this case, we are signing Palmer to compete this year and I want him in the building as quickly as possible.

6th round from this year and a conditional one for 2014 based on performance, like a 6th becoming a 5th.

Unless he's getting an incentive based contract I don't want him

His value is around 5-6 mill + incentives

Got hosed too big with Kolb to forget

Wait till he's released

If he takes the deal fine if not forget him and live with Stanton

Looks like Flynn to Oakland has been finalized, so a much greater chance that Palmer is cut now.

I voted for 4th or 5th round...because I WOULD be willing to give that up for him.

That said, I still think we play hardball for a 6th, 7th, or even wait for him to be released. The Raiders are in no position to ask for a 4th or 5th round, so you don't offer that.

He's definitely worth a 4th or 5th.

5,6,7 what do those picks matter anyway? Almost none of the guys selected in those rounds will last more than 2-4 years, won't ever be starters and aren't really much better than UDFA's you can pick up.

Who have we had? Reggie Wells back in 2003 is the only guy I could find who was a starter and last more than 3-4 years.

It's almost the same as getting Palmer for nothing.

And for you guys who can't wait to post a picture of Tom Brady, Kurt Warner was an UDFA :p

Next you're going to tell me John Skelton wasn't worth Bryant McFadden and a 5th round pick. You can't really think Carson Palmer is a better quarterback than John Skelton? :D

4th or 5th at the most. Not sure why most of you wouldn't give that up. That still is a low-risk very high reward situation. If hes awful, they lose a 4th or 5th who would have probably been a role-player at best. If he pans out, Cards compete in the best division in football.

Have to take risk in this league
