ASU didn't show up until the 4th quarter.
Just got back from this game and it was one I was worried about. Yes, there were bad calls but Houston was just more physical and seemed to just want the game more. Right from the getgo. That's what happens when you have a little success teams mark you as a chance to earn respect and are gunning for you. Like we did to Tech last week, Houston did it to us this week.
Weigman was never a runner like that at A&M. I wasn't expecting him to get 100+ and lot of it was RB like runs. Physical.
They basically ran the same play over and over again and we did nothing to stop it. QB draw and he just had to wait for the hole to open and we didn't adjust or anything.
It's not like we didn't know it was coming or weren't trying. Houston was just smashing our guys in the face. They just physically overpowered us. As did Utah. This was a problem as far back as the NAU game. The same with Utah. Houston probably ran the same type of plays for their quarterback. That sounds like a coaching issue.
Houston did have an excellent tight end. Metayer is a good one as well.
He wasn’t good at Georgia TechSims really isn’t good
Yeah, I apologize, I was a little upset the way things were going. I was at the game and responded that way because Dilly was being out coached by the Houston coach.I’m not saying this season. If he continues to bring success to the program.
He is accurate. Dillingham got that huge contract but what happens when Leavitt is gone? Can we even make a bowl game? We will go to a bowl this year but this team wasn't close to a championship contender. Even for the Big 12.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

He’s not wrong. Every 10 years or so is when either team is noteworthy. Between those years is a bunch of mediocrity and ineptitude. Neither school is going to ever be a perennial powerhouse in football because of ABOR constraints on contracts for coaches and coordinators, lack of consistent fan and booster support, and elite HS players leaving the state. ASU fans got upset with me because I’d mentioned that Dilly could leave ASU; and for the reasons that I’d mentioned and others, it is a real possibility. The ABOR won’t approve HC contracts beyond 5 years and coordinator contracts beyond 2, and those aren’t constraints that a Penn State or a LSU have.

He needs to hit the transfer portal harder and better than ever this off-season. Or we could go back to a losing season next year. I don't sense a lot of talent waiting in the wings among our backups. Hope I am wrong.

He addressed both schools. Totally appropriate, and accurate, to post this here.May I suggest, there is a University of Arizona thread on the forum for those who want to follow the thoughts of Michael Luke and the Arizona Wildcats.
In his description on X, he is an Arizona Wildcats host on YouTube (AZ 12 Podcast), a Wildcats podcast.
Minimally, there must be a better place for this discussion than an ASU game thread.
