The Charlotte Hornets kept their foot on the gas in what's become a surprising and busy 2026 NBA offseason. Just days after trading LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Hornets were back at it, this time sending starting power forward Miles Bridges to the Phoenix Suns in a deal that wasn't quite as cut-and-dry as the Ball trade.

The news of the trade was first reported by ESPN's Shams Charania, and it will include the following:

  • Suns receive: Miles Bridges, 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick
  • Hornets receive: Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale and a 2033 first-round pick

This marks the second 2033 first-round selection the Hornets received, as they also picked one up from the Timberwolves in the deal for Ball. However, what's noteworthy is that they're also sending a 2029 first-round pick to Phoenix as part of this deal.
