It won't be much longer until we run into an oasis among the NBA's yearly drought. The league is set to announce its 2026-27 regular season schedule next week, per NBA insider Marc Stein. For reference, last year's schedule drop happened on Thursday, Aug. 14.
That means the Oklahoma City Thunder will finally learn how their regular-season marathon shakes out. Expect the title favorite to be on national TV plenty of times once again. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren headline their group for another year. With some changes around the complementary pieces.
It shouldn't be a shocker to see the NBA drop its 2026-27 regular-season schedule in mid-August. That's typically when it happens. Until the whole slate is announced, expect NBA insiders to trickle in some of the highly anticipated matchups in the coming days — ala Opening Night and Christmas. The Thunder will learn when they'll play 80 of their 82 matchups. Of course, the 2026 NBA Cup will determine the other two games — depending on group play.
It'll be fun to find out what OKC's 2026-27 NBA regular season schedule looks like. As a reminder, games are played from Oct. 2026 to Apr. 2027. After that, the 2027 NBA playoffs will begin. Once the schedule is announced, Thunder Wire will have full breakdowns in the following days.
The NBA’s 2026-27 schedule is on course to be announced in full next week, @TheSteinLine has learned.
