The NHL's full schedule for the 2026-27 season was revealed on Thursday afternoon, which may spark the question among NBA fans about when we should expect the NBA's schedule to be unveiled.
Both seasons start around the same time of the year, so let's take a look at when we can expect to find out important games and dates in the coming weeks.
When will the 2026-27 NBA regular season schedule be revealed?
Typically, we see games for opening night, Christmas Day, etc. revealed before the entire schedule is released to the public.
Those are typically teased in the first week/second week of August.

Here are some dates from past years when we found out the slates for these key dates.

Both Christmas Day games and opening night games have been revealed between Aug. 8-12 in the last three offseasons, so expect these marquee games to be announced in that period or within a few days before or after.
As of July 15. LeBron James is still a free agent, so there's always the possibility that could delay these announcements, if he takes time to sign somewhere.
These are important dates to look forward to, but eventually the entire schedules for each team will be announced a few days or weeks after the notable ones are.
Here are the dates when the full schedule was revealed in past years.

Based on this trend over the last three years, we can expect the full schedule to be revealed about a week after the Christmas Day/Opening Night games are teased.
The full schedule release will have more of a buildup than the other notable games, as networks typically reveal days before that they will be releasing it on a specific day.
