I think the five cut last week is a good guess.

JeffGollin said:That Graves was instrumental in getting Denny here is a sound point.
That the Cardinals have made a bunch of moves that appear to undo at least some of the later moves of the previous coaching regime is also, I think, a valid point. Equally valid is to wonder how these decisions were made, by whom and why. (That's what fans do).
Raising the issue doesn't necessarily imply "hating" either Rod or Denny. It is what it is - noting something of interest and wondering out loud what's behind it.
I don't think any of they guys cut last week were resigned by Graves.ajcardfan said:I think the five cut last week is a good guess.

I would like to know who actually made the call on letting go all the starting wide receivers, what I consider one of the strangest moves ever made by an NFL franchise, before I'd let Graves and the rest of the front office off the hook for last season's debacle.

I sure hope Dennis is really the answer we all hope for. He is talking the talk we will soon see if he is walking the walk.

Dennis Green will do more for the Cardinals than Buddy Ryan ever even dreamed.
vince56 said:Garrison was cut by Tobin to make room for Simeon Rice. Hearst lasted through buddy's years and had a 1000 yard season for under Buddy Ryan.
EDIT: 1070 yards in 1995. Buddy's last year.
That is not even close to what happened.

Redheart said:Well, it might have been close...
Hearst may have had a good year under Ryan, but I swear it was Buddy who took him off the plane and cut him; SF snapped him up.
I also think you were right / close about the reason, to make space for SiMEon.

Bobcat said:No Vince56 is right GH was cut to make room for S "Uncle Bens" Rice. See Sim got soft on running plays. Tobin also drafted Leelon "tackle toy" Macellroy(SP), so he felt that GH was expendable. What a big mistake that was. Rice became "LEON" and Leelon became, what a used car salesman.

It may have been all the drinking and the slaughter of all those poor brain cells. Regardless, since I am not giving up drinking, the claim that my memory is correct has to go. Oh well, sacrifices have to be made...

That's because there wasn't anything good.
