That Graves was instrumental in getting Denny here is a sound point.

That the Cardinals have made a bunch of moves that appear to undo at least some of the later moves of the previous coaching regime is also, I think, a valid point. Equally valid is to wonder how these decisions were made, by whom and why. (That's what fans do).

Raising the issue doesn't necessarily imply "hating" either Rod or Denny. It is what it is - noting something of interest and wondering out loud what's behind it.

It's funny reading these things about McGinnis. They are the same things people said about Tobin when McGinnis took over.

I would like to know who actually made the call on letting go all the starting wide receivers, what I consider one of the strangest moves ever made by an NFL franchise, before I'd let Graves and the rest of the front office off the hook for last season's debacle.

WHOAAAAAA! You know I love ya DJ, but with all due respect , it was probably Graves boldest and brightest moves since he's been here. Gone were Boston, Sanders and Jenkins. Sanders did nothing. Jenkins? Is he still on anybody's roster. And Boston? He was a bust in San Diego and will never have another season like he had with the Cards The guy is trouble and to franchise him at that time may have forced us to keep him another year.
Ask yourself this. What trio of recievers would you rather have today? Boston, Sanders and Jenkins? Or Boldin, Johnson and Fitzgerald? It may not have looked good then, but it sure looks good now.

Bell and Parsons were on their original deals, I believe, but all signed their contracts under Graves. Tanner got resigned last offseason, Bush was extended during last season, Lucas was resigned earlier this offseason

I sure hope Dennis is really the answer we all hope for. He is talking the talk we will soon see if he is walking the walk.

Don't even mention Buddy Ryan in the same breath or sentence with Dennis Green. Buddy Ryan was a blow hard who's claim to fame was a superior talented group of guys called the '85 Bears. He was a hustler who had the knack of getting headlines.
Dennis Green will do more for the Cardinals than Buddy Ryan ever even dreamed.

y'know, i agree that buddy was obviously a blowhard, but don't underestimate what he did in philly. they were a perennial playoff team w/ a dominant defense. the '85 bears were not his only accomplishment.

Redheart, it's cool dude, it's some old stuff, we all get those types of things wrong from time to time. No need to fight about it. Only reason I remember it is because I was furious with Tobin at the time it happened and felt like puking seeing hearst in that bengal uniform and eventually in the 49er uni.

I believe both Mac and Rod were responsible for the good and the bad. Alot of it came down to inexperience. Mac was responsible for the coaching staff but Graves made most of the decisions in player acquisition. Last years draft trade was Graves. Free agency wait and see was Graves. Mac cleaned up alot of the salary cap mess that he inherited. Graves revised the Cards negotiating techniques. In the end tne Cards are on the rise. Let's celebrate that instead of finding fault with what's already gone.
