The field for the Utah Days of ‘47 Gold Medal round is officially taking shape, with the third group of competitors securing their spot in Saturday’s finals. As the summer run begins to wind down, competitors are making the most of every opportunity to climb the world standings before the final push to the 2026 NFR.
The roughstock events are a one-go with the top two advancing to the Gold Medal round on Saturday.
******** rider Nick Pelke punched his ticket to Saturday’s Gold Medal round after scoring 87 points on Corey & Lange Rodeo's Cowboy Fever. Owen Brouillette secured the second place spot after turning in an 84-point ride.
Brody Cress won a gold medal in 2021, and is looking to add a second to his collection in 2026. He topped the saddle bronc riding leaderboard with a 91-point ride on Championship Pro Rodeo's Pow Wow Nights. He’ll be joined on Saturday by Brody Wells, who scored 88.5 points.
No. 2-ranked Tristen Hutchings topped the bull riding in his bracket with an 88-point ride, while Sam Southern finished second with 84 points.
The timed events, excluding barrel racing, are a two-go average with the top two advancing to the final round.
Fan favorite Lisa Lockhart finished the cloverleaf pattern in 17.14 seconds, the fastest time of the rodeo thus far. Lockhart is looking to secure her 20th consecutive NFR qualification this year, and currently sits just outside the Top 15. Calgary Stampede Arena Record holder Hayle Gibson-Stillwell also qualified for Saturday’s finals after turning in a time of 17.23 seconds.
Amy Ohrt dominated the Bracket Three breakaway roping with a 4.5-second aggregate. No. 2-ranked Hali Williams also had an impressive performance, advancing to Saturday's finals with a 4.7-second aggregate.
Traver Johnson led the steer wrestling field with a two-head time of 8.9 seconds. No. 7-ranked Cash Robb finished just behind with a 9.2-second aggregate as he looks to secure his second NFR qualification.
Clay Smith and Coleby Payne finished atop the team roping leaderboard with a time of 9.7 seconds on two head. Veteran team Coleman Proctor and Travis Graves will also be advancing to the Gold Medal round with a 11.2-second aggregate.
In tie-down roping, Idaho cowboy Bo Pickett rose to the top of the leaderboard with an aggregate time of 15.1 seconds on two head. Semaj Collins Jr. finished second with a two-head time of 15.4 seconds.
