Pool A is officially in the books at the 2026 Calgary Stampede, and after three thrilling performances, the first group of athletes advancing to Showdown Sunday has been decided.

One of the most memorable moments of the afternoon came in ******** riding, where Richmond Champion delivered a storybook finish to his career. The Montana cowboy capped off his ProRodeo career with a spectacular 90-point ride aboard Shadow Warrior, earning the Performance 3 win. While the victory wasn't enough to move him into the finals, it was a fitting farewell for one of the sport's most respected veterans.

Garrett Shadbolt claimed the Pool A ******** title after collecting $15,500 across three performances. He’ll be joined on Showdown Sunday by Cole Franks and Ethan Mazurenko, who each collected $11,500 and $8,625, respectively.

Saddle bronc riding featured another dominant performance from Lefty Holman, who closed Pool A with a 90-point ride to easily secure first place in the aggregate. Wyatt Casper also advanced comfortably after collecting $13,625, while Allen Boore earned the final qualifying spot thanks to a consistent showing of 85, 86, and 84-point rides.

Pool A of bull riding saw only three cowboys cover all three of their bulls, with T Parker – who never scored lower than 86 points – topping the aggregate after earning more than $20,000. Stetson Wright advanced to Showdown Sunday in second after collecting over $13,000, while Lane Vaughan claimed the final spot. Hudson Bolton's impressive 89-point winning ride in Performance 3 came after a buckoff in Round 2, leaving him just short of advancing.

Haven Meged led tie-down roping from start to finish to secure the top qualifying spot, while Bryce Derrer's winning 7.4-second run on Sunday pushed him into second. Trevor Hale rounded out the qualifiers after three consistent runs earned him $10,750.

Steer wrestling saw Jesse Brown and Holden Myers maintain their spots atop the standings after consistent performances across all three rounds. Seth Peterson punched the final ticket to Showdown Sunday after winning the final performance in 4.7 seconds.

In breakaway roping, Jenna Dallyn continued her outstanding Stampede with another 3.4-second run to win Pool A and over $15,000. Cadee Williams finished close behind with over $14,000 won, while Payton Scalzo held onto third despite a no-time in the final performance.

The barrel racing race remained anyone’s game until the final run. Heidi Gunderson ultimately topped the aggregate in Pool A after collecting $11,500. Julie Plourde and Emily Beisel finished right behind Gunderson, each collecting $11,000.

Pool B is officially underway, where another group of competitors will battle it out over the next three performances for their shot at Showdown Sunday. Follow along each day for the latest Calgary Stampede results, standings, and stories as the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" continues.
