The second bracket at the 2026 Utah Days of ‘47 Rodeo is in the books, bringing another wave of competitors looking to secure their place in Saturday’s finals. Only two competitors from each bracket advancing to the Gold Medal round, making every second and point crucial.
The roughstock events are a one-go with the top two advancing to the Gold Medal round on Saturday.
Jess Pope was the first ******** rider in Bracket Two to punch his ticket to the Gold Medal round. He won his bracket with an 89-point ride on Andrews Rodeo’s Cash and Carry. Pope will be joined by Kade Sonnier, who secured the second qualifying spot after scoring 88.5 points.
Saddle bronc riding saw a tie at the top of the leaderboard – Jake Finlay and Cash Wilson each scored 87.5 points, Finlay on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's Exotic Dancer and Wilson on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's Full Moon. Both cowboys will return for the finals on Saturday.
Fresh off his win at California Rodeo Salinas, TJ Gray kept him momentum rolling in the bull riding. He topped the leaderboard with an 88.5-point ride aboard Championship Rodeo’s Guess Who. Clayton Sellars finished just behind with an 88-point ride.
The timed events, excluding barrel racing, are a two-go average with the top two advancing to the final round.
In steer wrestling, Rowdy Parrott led the field with a two-head time of 9.6 seconds. Joining him is Kaden Greenfield, who turned in an aggregate time of 9.8 seconds.
Brye Crites and Ross Ashford finished atop the team roping leaderboard after stopping the clock in a combined 10.6 seconds on two head. Clay Tryan and Will Woodfin will also be returning on Saturday after an 11.8-second aggregate. Britt Bedke took the top spot in the Bracket Two tie-down roping after recording 16.3 seconds on two head, while Brey Yore finished second with a 18.0-second aggregate.
KariAnn Cross bested the field in the barrel racing with a smoking 17.22-second run, edging Whitley Sharp, who finished second with a 17.27. Maddy Jacobs dominated the breakaway roping, stopping the clock at 4.7 seconds on two head. New momShelby Boisjoli-Meged finished second with a 5.6-second aggregate.
