The month of July has just a few days remaining, and the start of the 2026 Kentucky football season is getting even closer. Their first game is now just 39 days away, and anticipation continues to build around the program and the roster. As we count down the days until game one, we're getting to know the players on the team, and today we're taking a look at No. 39, Saxton Howard.
Howard was a high school star from the Bluegrass State who played at several positions on the offense. He racked up over 4,000 yards in total at Lexington Christian Academy, and was an All-State player as a senior.
Though he had offers from multiple schools to play basketball, which he also excelled at, he elected to join the Kentucky football team. In his first year, he didn't get the chance to appear in a game, but practiced to remain ready. He also made the Dean's list.
Though the Wildcats changed coaches this year, Howard decided to stick around for Will Stein's first season. Though he's still depth on the roster, he's sure to work hard and stay ready in case he's needed. Fans would love to see the hometown kid get some playing time this season.
