Georgia Bulldogs pitcher Jordan Stephens has committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks, per an announcement on his Instagram. Stephens is a talented right-handed pitcher who will join the Gamecocks, via the transfer portal, with one season of eligibility remaining.
Stephens has spent the previous two seasons in Georgia’s bullpen despite struggling immensely in 2026. The pitcher held a 7.85 ERA across 17 total appearances in 2026, but Stephens could bounce back during his senior year at South Carolina. Stephens posted 3.92 ERA over 18 total appearances while also recording three saves in 2025, as the pitcher has proven to be impactful in the past despite his recent struggles.
Stephens transferred to Georgia during summer of 2024 following a stellar freshman year at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The talented pitcher was excellent over the first two seasons of his collegiate career, and a fresh start with the Gamecocks could get Stephens back on track in 2027.
Georgia baseball is expected to reload in the transfer portal this offseason following a historic year where UGA won the SEC and made the College World Series. The Dawgs will have new faces up and down the roster in 2027, and Stephens has now seen his time with the Bulldogs come to an end.
