The Georgia Bulldogs will return forward Kareem Stagg for the 2026-2027 college basketball season. Stagg announced his return to Georgia after a productive freshman season with the Bulldogs. He would have had plenty of suitors if he elected to enter the transfer portal.
Stagg's role grew throughout SEC play with him taking on a larger share of minutes down the stretch. The 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward averaged 4.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game. Stagg appeared in 33 games for Georgia including nine starts. He scored in double digits five times during the season.
Stagg joins guard Smurf Millender in returning to coach Mike White and Georgia. The Bulldogs are awaiting several other key decisions with the transfer portal opening on April 7.
The rising sophomore will need to take on a larger role for Georgia in 2026-2027. The Bulldogs have already lost key contributors Somto Cyril, Jeremiah Wilkinson and Dylan James.
Georgia will have to bring in multiple transfers this offseason. The Bulldogs don't have any commitments from recruits,
