Georgia baseball is gearing up for the SEC Tournament and the final week before the NCAA Tournament field of 64 teams comes out on Memorial Day May 25.
The No. 4 Bulldogs won their final series of the regular season at Auburn, giving them series wins against nine of 10 SEC opponents on their schedule.
“We are battled-tested and played at some of the hardest places in college baseball against some really great teams,” catcher Daniel Jackson said.
The Bulldogs will carry a 43-12 record, 23-7 in the SEC into a Thursday SEC quarterfinal game in Hoover, Ala., against either Mississippi State, Ole Miss or Missouri.
Georgia had an 11-game winning streak snapped Saturday in a 14-4 loss at Auburn.
“We won 11 in a row and you’re not going to win them all,” Georgia coach Wes Johnson said. “We’ll look back and be proud of what we accomplished in the regular season but come Monday, we’ll be focusing on the SEC Tournament and go play that, and when we’re done with that, we’ll get ready for regionals.”
Georgia is projected for the same national seed for all three projections below. Top 8 seeds are in position to host both a regional and super regional should they advance out of the first weekend.
