Sorry that's complete crap.It was the hand swipe/physical contact that made it a bigger deal than it probably was... getting caught by the cameras. If that wouldn't have happened, this wouldn't even be a story.
I just saw it was the Cardinals who fined him. That's complete BS.
If I was Gannon, I'd be beyond pissed.
That's why they're a losing organization.
Maybe next time Demarco should drop the ball at the 5 and Gannon should go give him a big hug.
Unbelievable.
nAHHHIf Gannon was fined by the team, then he has no authority now in front of his players after that... way to sabotage your coach
Assault is crazyThey had to do something. I'm sure the players association/league threatened to get involved. A coach cant assault a player on the sideline in any level of football The fact that Gannon apologized to the team and player proves he went out of line. He wouldn't have done that if it was just harsh words
Michael doesn't get to keep that money. It all goes to the NFL charities fund. So that's why the NFL won't get involved. So it was either the cards do it or the NFL would have IMOYeah it's kinda dumb. Excuse for Mikey B to get some money back from his contract.
The NFL will not take any action against Gannon.
"We have been in contact with the NFL [Players Association], and the club which addressed the matter," the league said in a statement obtained by Pelissero. "There is no further action from the league."
Interesting, I had no idea.Michael doesn't get to keep that money. It all goes to the NFL charities fund. So that's why the NFL won't get involved. So it was either the cards do it or the NFL would have IMO
I get it. I manage a small-medium organization (about 35-40 employees who report directly or indirectly to me). In this era, workers have tremendous power and they know it. So, DeMercado royally screws up, Gannon reacts (as many of us might), and Gannon gets punished. It’s not ideal for leaders to be treated in this manner (hard to maintain any authority or credibility), but it’s the current way. Regardless, I’d advocate that the Cards also fine DeMercado, but the players’ union would go bonkers and future free agents would be that less likely to come here. Makes me really feel for Gannon. He’s being squeezed. And what’s he going to do—walk away from a high-paying dream job?If Gannon was fined by the team, then he has no authority now in front of his players after that... way to sabotage your coach
