With Jayson Tatum returning to action for the Boston Celtics, it can be easy to forget the roots of the culture that helped the Celtics field a contending ball club for the St. Louis native to come back to this season. And there may be no more emblematic example of that culture than Hall of Fame Boston small forward Larry Bird.
And like Tatum, Larry Legend had some serious struggles in his career that do not get the attention they deserve in the broader story of their stardom.
