When searching for updates about the Cleveland Browns' training camp, it's impossible to read an article, listen to a podcast, or get any sort of report from the day without it being headlined by former Washington Huskies star wide receiver Denzel Boston.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound pass catcher, who the Browns selected in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft, has displayed his physical dominance in seemingly every single practice, which has earned him a spot on Cleveland's first team alongside former first-round picks Jerry Jeudy and K.C. Concepcion.
As national media members make their rounds, the former Husky star has become one of the most popular dark horse picks to be the 2026 Offensive Rookie of the Year, with reports from every practice sounding exactly like they did during his time on Montlake.
“He has clear pro size at 6-foot-4 with a well-built frame, and he knows how to use it," ESPN's Benjamin Solak said of Boston after attending a Browns practice on August 5 where the former second-round pick hauled in three touchdown receptions.
"He pushes off with strength, and he attacks throws away from his frame with length and hand size. But it's the smoothness with which he's in and out of his routes that truly stands out…You can tell he'll be a great possession receiver on quick-breaking routes (think Michael Pittman Jr. or Drake London) because of his ability to snap into routes and box smaller corners out from the catch point.”
Boston has also earned high praise from first-year head coach Todd Monken as a quarterback battle between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders rages.
"He's made a bunch of plays. I've seen it, you've seen it," Monken said. "He's made a bunch of plays. We want to move Jerry around; I think Jerry is at his best when he's on the move. He's elite. He can separate, and I think Denzel has shown that when he's in the boundary and makes contested catches, a lot of our three-by-one stuff may go to there."
