Not long after the Cleveland Browns selected wide receiver Denzel Boston in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft, the organization also selected his former Washington Huskies teammate, offensive lineman Parker Brailsford.
After both initially committed to Jimmy Lake's 2022 class, the pair of three-star recruits stayed on when Kalen DeBoer took over. Brailsford took a faster route to the field, earning a starting spot at right guard in 2023 as a redshirt freshman, while Boston waited his turn behind three other NFL receivers: Rome Odunze, Ja'Lynn Polk, and Jalen McMillan.
However, after DeBoer departed for Alabama after Washington's run to the national championship in 2023, Brailsford followed the head coach to Tuscaloosa, while Boston remained in his hometown to play for coach Jedd Fisch. Now, the two will have the chance to share the field again for the AFC North team with a big challenge ahead of them.
Moving forward, Boston and Brailsford are going to be viewed as key pieces for an organization that has experienced just four winning seasons and three playoff berths since 2000. However, the standout wide receiver, who hauled in 20 touchdown catches in his two seasons as a starter, believes that they can turn around the Browns' fortune.
"I really feel like there's no egos in this rookie class," Boston said in an interview with the Browns in May. "We're all here to get better and work off of each other. Iron against iron, and just keep on grinding each and every day."
"We all know we have a very young team coming here, and I think we're excited to all be able to build with each other, pick up on momentum, and keep carrying that momentum."
