Out of all the players participating in Cleveland Browns training camp this offseason, Denzel Boston has certainly received the most excitement from both local and national media members. Between his physical tools and playmaking abilities, expectations are soaring for him going into the 2026 season. But is the conversation surrounding him warranted?

Already in camp, he has shown he excels at winning contested catches and creating mismatches against the defensive backs. Media members who have watched him every day at training camp have been astonished by how hard it has been for the defense to cover him.

A quick smattering of the hype surrounding Boston, via social media:

Needless to say, Boston is the talk of Cleveland.

As exciting as it is to see a young player with such promise so early on in training camp, solid reps in camp are not the same as production in an actual game. It’s important to manage expectations because his impact as a receiver will depend on how a number of factors play out during the season. The uncertainty at quarterback and with the offensive line will have a significant impact on the offense as a whole, including the level of production Boston is ultimately able to generate. For now, cautious optimism is the most reasonable approach.

Let me know what you think in the comments – Has Denzel Boston earned all the hype, or is it being exaggerated?
