Former Pittsburgh Steelers star Le'Veon Bell has been arrested for nonpayment of child support.
According to his lawyer, he has a hard time making payments. Bell owes about $50,000.
Bell's attorney, Thomas Shaffer, told CantorRep.com that Bell is being "inaccurately" charged based on his NFL salary even though he's been out of the league for years.
Bell was just recently on a podcast saying how much he hates paying child support, which may also explain why he was arrested.
"I hate it, he says. "I hate every ounce of it." But it's expected if you make a certain amount. I think you should obviously give the woman that's holding your baby some money. I think it's fair, he continued. I think child support can be crazy, "
He added, however, "I don't think you should have to be under child support." So now he sits in jail in Canton, Ohio, apparently unable to make bail right now for not being able to come up with the money to pay what he owes.
In the same interview, Bell, who has six or seven kids with six different women, can't even remember all their names, and one of them, according to reports, one of his baby mothers, shares a child with rapper Future too, who is the father of singer Ciara's oldest child, who is the stepchild of Russell Wilson.
It will be interesting to see how Bell gets himself out of the situation.
