A former Michigan State football star has been arrested in Ohio.
According to the Detroit Free Press, former Spartans star running back Le'Veon Bell was arrested on Sunday after a warrant was issued out of Kent County, Michigan. Bell's warrant was over child support payments and he is being held in the Stark County Jail in Canton, Ohio.
Bell played three seasons for the Spartans from 2010 to 2012, appearing in 40 games in his Michigan State career. He ended his career with 3,346 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns.
Following his time at Michigan State, Bell went on to play eight seasons in the NFL. He started his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with his most success coming during the five years he was with the Steelers. After that, he bounced around teams, including the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to a story from the Detroit Free Press, Bell's attorney Thomas W. Shaffer said he hasn't paid child support for "two to three months" and that his child support payments are being "inaccurately" assessed based on the salary he received as a former player.
