Former Red Sox Prospect Takes MLB All-Star Deep In Triple-A Game originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
A recently traded Boston Red Sox prospect keeps making noise with his new organization.
James Tibbs III continues to swing a scorching bat in the minor leagues. The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder hit two home runs for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, giving him 14 in 51 games this season.
One of them came against fierce competition. Tibbs went deep against All-Star closer Josh Hader, who's working a rehab assignment for the Houston Astros' Triple-A Sugar Land affiliate.
If homering off an esteemed major leaguer wasn't impressive enough, the left-handed Tibbs took one of baseball's most imposing southpaws yard. Hader has allowed just 10 home runs to lefties in nine seasons.

Last June, the Red Sox acquired Tibbs from the San Francisco Giants as a centerpiece of a blockbuster Rafael Devers trade. They shipped Tibbs back to the National League West the following month, flipping him to the Dodgers for Dustin May.
May registered a 5.40 ERA in 28 1/3 innings for the Red Sox before joining the St. Louis Cardinals in the offseason. Meanwhile, Tibbs has discovered another gear in the Dodgers' farm system.
The 23-year-old is batting .310/.413/.616 after notching his third multi-homer game of the season on Thursday. MLB.com still doesn't rank Tibbs as a top-100 prospect, but he catapulted to No. 24 in updated rankings from The Athletic's Keith Law.
