The Miami Dolphins don't have many of their own free agents still on the market at this point of the offseason, but there are a few still out there, and one could be heading to a new home soon.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Seattle Seahawks brought in former Dolphins defensive back Ifeatu Melifonwu for a workout on Monday.

Melifonwu, 27, played at Syracuse from 2017-20, earning All-ACC honors once with the Orange before the Detroit Lions took him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft.

After four seasons with the Lions, Melifonwu signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins last offseason and played 54% of their defensive snaps in 16 games and recorded a career-high 53 tackles, one sack and one interception.

Miami has added several defensive backs to their roster this offseason, making it unlikely that Melifonwu will return to the team for the 2026 season. A shot to be a depth player for the defending Super Bowl champions would be a great opportunity for him, if the workout went well.
