Dwayne Aristode will be continuing his college basketball career out west.

The former Arizona Wildcats forward announced Thursday he is committing to Oregon. Aristode will have three remaining years of eligibility.

The 6-foot-8 wing appeared in 35 games as a freshman, averaging 3.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 13.2 minutes. Aristode missed a portion of the Big 12 season with an illness.

Aristode struggled to get back into a rhythm after being absent and played sparingly in the NCAA Tournament.

He reached double figures in scoring three times, all coming against mid major opponents in non-conference play.

Aristode’s strong defense and long wingspan should suit him well at Oregon. The Ducks are coming off a 12-20 season including a 5-15 record in the Big Ten.

Oregon coach Dana Altman hadn’t experienced a losing record since 1995-96, his second year at Creighton. The Ducks have missed the NCAA Tournament in three of the last five years.

Aristode is the second Arizona transfer to find a destination this season, after joined Sidi Gueye joined Santa Clara. Aristode and Gueye are the only Wildcats to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
