Man, what a month for Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes. And what a job they’ve done at pulling some of the top players in the country from some of the biggest marquee programs.
It continued on Wednesday night for the Canes. Five-star Irmo, SC defensive lineman Jaiden Bryant flipped his commitment from LSU to Miami. He also says that he’s shutting down his recruitment as well.

It doesn’t take a rock scientist to discuss the impact of this pickup. Bryant is a game wrecker, and he’s one of the top defenders in the class for a reason. He’s No. 29 overall, No. 4 defensive lineman, and No. 1 player in South Carolina for the 2027 cycle in Rivals/On3 Sports’ industry rankings.
Bryant was a part of the enormous visit list who came to Coral Gables last weekend, and the fruits of that labor are beginning to blossom for Miami’s staff.
Bryant becomes the third big name recruit to flip in the last month from a marquee program. Five-star Long Beach, CA DB Donte Wright flipped from Georgia last month, and Ai’King Hall flipped from Oregon about a week later.
He also becomes the third five-star recruit to join Miami’s 2027 class, joining Wright and five-star Miami Carol City WR Nick Lennear. Only Miami and Texas A&M (five) have more than two five-star commits thus far, so the Hurricanes’ third-place team ranking should come as no surprise.
Welcome to the U, Jaiden!
